From the place where it all started. It was thirty miles from Fort Sumter's front lines, there was a lumber mill which was turned into the first weaponry factory. Now over a century later, this historical building is no longer standing on the land. But the memories live on through the bricks of the building itself. You can own this brick which is a memoir of the Civil War. On the brick is an informative label explaining the history and a felt cushion for the base.

This handmade brick, circa 1850, coming from Georgetown, South Carolina, is authenticated as such by legal affidavits and research documents held by Confederate Artifacts, Incorporated.

The Brick was part of a foundry located near Goat Island, which was used just prior to and during the Civil War for modifying cannons and munitions. This weaponry was purported to have been used to fire some of the first shots of the Civil War, including the attack of Fort Sumter which was less than fifty miles away.
